5 Most Inspiring Facebook Ad Campaigns of This Era

It happens to every marketer. When looking for new ideas to create a compelling Facebook ad, there’s a feeling of emptiness that hits you. Coming up with fresh ideas for compelling ads is just so incredibly difficult sometimes. So we decided to sit down and research the most compelling, inspiring, beautifully crafted Facebook ads of this era and these are what we found:

1. Fiverr

The use of colour is one of the key aspects of a successful Facebook advert and Fiverr surely knows how to run a successful Facebook ad campaign. Image 1 You can’t help but admire the clever use of colour in this ad. The bright yellow backdrop conveys all sorts of positive emotions – happiness, excitement, optimism. It is perfectly in tune with colour psychology. This colour makes people connect with positive emotions, leading to increased engagement and CTR (click-through-rate). Apart from the smart use of colour, Fiverr has made another smart move with this ad. Instead of Fiverr’s home page, the ad is linked to a landing page where eye-catching design and highly targeted copy makes people respond positively to the call to actions.

After all, getting clicks on ads is only 20% of the objective. Whether they convert to customers or not is up to those people who clicked. In Fiverr’s case, the landing page grabs attention at the first glance because it gives the audience what they are looking for.

2. SurveyMonkey

What does SurveyMonkey do? It offers surveys that people can take. In this Facebook advert, SurveyMonkey has given some solid motivation in the form of a prize. It has offered a chance to win a $100 Amazon gift card, a GoPro camera and a $300 Playstation gift card. Image 2 The key takeaway here? The prizes. SurveyMonkey offers prizes that almost everyone would love to receive. And that’s what makes their ads so inspiring.
Also, notice the yellow background?

3. The New York Times

If you don’t give your product away for free, how do you get people to sign up? The answer is, do what The New York Times has done. Give your product away for almost free.

For $0.99, The New York Times offers unlimited access to its articles for 4 weeks. Image 3 The “no-strings-attached” essence of this ad attracts people to sign up. When you offer something not for free but for a paltry sum, you get a lot of freeloaders who wouldn’t otherwise buy your product but will be committed for a certain period of time. This type of audience presents a great opportunity for upselling.

4. Red Bull

Videos are big on Facebook these days. And Red Bull has capitalised on the popularity of Facebook videos like nobody’s business. The company has always been great at creating videos of extreme sports, showcasing the spirit of Red Bull drinkers all over the world. Their Facebook campaign structure is based around such videos too. Image 4 Through compelling and of course, highly targeted, breathtaking videos, they have really bonded with their audience, showing the connection between their energy drink and extreme sports.

5. Snickers

Do you use festivals and holidays as a theme for your ads? You should because Snickers has done wonders with their Halloween-themed Facebook ads. Image 5 What is it about this ad that the audience resonated with? Everything! From the timing to the witty design to the copy – what’s not to love? The advert creates positive emotions in the minds of the viewers, the same way a Snickers bar would.

The key takeaway about festival and holiday themed ads is that they help you connect the spirit of the season with your product and lead people to think that your brand cares about them.

Follow these Facebook ad campaigns best practices when you create an advert for your own brand. Make sure to use a compelling image and copy that resonates with your audience. If you are creating a video ad, remember that the first few seconds are the most important. Make those first few seconds so interesting that people would want to see till the end.

What do you think? Do you find these ads inspiring? Let us know in the comments.
